This event will be packed, so get there early to support the voices of our city as they slam for a slot in the finals, and to represent NYC at the Brave New Voices International Teen Poetry Slam & Festival in San Francisco, CA in July.
The top 5 winners earn a spot on the Urban Word NYC Slam Team and an all-expenses paid trip to represent New York City at the Brave New Voices National Teen Poetry Festival in San Francisco this July. They also win opportunities to perform in high profile events, including NY Liberty WNBA games, regional slam competitions and more.
