Ry Cook

Ry Cook holds an MFA in creative writing from Columbia University. Before joining the Academy, Cook was the program associate at The Flow Chart Foundation, dedicated to celebrating John Ashbery's artistic legacy through public events, performances, and exhibitions. They also served as the event host and lead bookseller at McNally Jackson Books, where Cook created the reading series “Brave, Unbodied Scheme” to highlight small presses and the poets who champion them. Their writing appears in The Brooklyn RailPreludeThe BafflerBOMBIterant, and The New Republic. Their first chapbook, Freak of Nature, is now available through Choo Choo Press. Cook is based in New York City.
