Asari Beale

Asari Beale joined Teachers & Writers in May 2019, bringing her extensive experience as a teacher, writer, fundraiser, and communications professional. Most recently, Ms. Beale served as the Director of Communications and Community Relations at Little Sisters of the Assumption Family Health Service (LSA), a human services agency dedicated to the wellness of families in East Harlem. Prior to that, she served as Communications Manager at Reach Out and Read of Greater New York, an early literacy and school readiness program. She has taught literature and creative writing as an Adjunct Lecturer at Hunter College, Brooklyn College, and Fordham University. In addition, she is a writer of young people’s literature and is a member of the Society of Children’s Book Writers and Illustrators. Ms. Beale holds a BA from New York University and an MFA from Brooklyn College.
