Anahid Nersessian

Anahid Nersessian was born and raised in New York City. She is the author of Keats’s Odes: A Lover’s Discourse (University of Chicago Press, 2021; Verso, 2022); The Calamity Form: On Poetry and Social Life (University of Chicago, 2020); and Utopia, Limited: Romanticism and Adjustment (Harvard University Press, 2015). She is currently writing a book called “How to Have Sex in a Poem.” The former poetry editor of Granta, she is also a frequent contributor to The New York Review of Books. Her work has appeared in The New Yorker, London Review of Books, New Left Review, n+1, Los Angeles Review of Books, The Paris Review, Bidoun, Poetry, Mousse, and elsewhere. She lives in Los Angeles, where she is a professor in the department of English at UCLA.
