Today we celebrate World Teachers’ Day by recognizing the significant contributions of educators of all forms and disciplines—whether they teach primary school, high school, upper education, adult education, special education, or homeschool. Educators open up the doors to possibility, incite curiosity, and empower students to think for themselves and look more deeply at the world around them.
In support of teachers and the powerful role they play in fostering creativity and growth through education and the arts, Poets.org has a variety of resources for teachers who want to bring poetry into the classroom. Find lesson plans and essays, and make sure to keep up to date with our education programming by signing up for our monthly Educator Newsletter. This year we’ve also premiered Teach This Poem, a weekly series featuring a poem from our online poetry collection, accompanied by interdisciplinary resources and activities for K-12 teachers.
