Nets

Poet and visual artist Jen Bervin is known for creating work that weds text and textile in a practice that includes poetry, art works, and archival research. In this collection, Bervin takes on Shakespeare’s sonnets through erasure, stripping them “bare to the nets” to create an intertextually nuanced work that recognizes a poetic legacy while also opening it to new interpretation. Of Nets, Paul Auster writes, “Jen Bervin has reimagined Shakespeare as our true contemporary.”
