Jonathan Farmer is the author of That Peculiar Affirmative: On the Social Life of Poems (Stephen F. Austin, 2019). His poem, “Haw River Meditation,” was a finalist for the 2019 On Teaching Poem Prize, which was judged by Presidential Inaugural Poet Richard Blanco, and is given to honor the best unpublished poem written about K–12 teaching and/or teachers.
