Stephen Sartarelli was born in Youngstown, Ohio, on July 5, 1954. He has translated over forty books of fiction and poetry from the Italian and French, including The Selected Poetry of Pier Paolo Pasolini (University of Chicago Press, 2014), which received the 2016 Raiziss/de Palchi Book Prize.
