In 2023, Yalie Saweda Kamara was named an Academy of American Poets Laureate Fellow. Kamara will launch “Keep the Lights On,” an installation of a series of polyvocal, community-generated poems aimed at  democratizing art through free poetry workshops and outdoor display. These poems will be projected onto select building walls throughout Cincinnati and illustrated by local artists.
