In 2019, Jaki Shelton Green was named an Academy of American Poets Laureate Fellow. Green launched “Literary ChangeMakers,” which will support youth poets who are engaged artistically in civic and community activism, social justice, and youth leadership in over one hundred counties in North Carolina.
