Readings in the Gallery: “The Frost Place Presents the Still Puddle Poets”

Road Trip: Frost Place Poets Featured at the St. Johnsbury Athenaeum

A group of poets from the Hanover, N.H. area, will be featured when “The Frost Place Presents the Still Puddle Poets” at the St. Johnsbury Athenaeum. The two notable institutions of Northern New England will jointly sponsor the reading Saturday, October 10 at 3:00 p.m. in the historic Athenaeum. The reading is meant to showcase a workshop that twenty years ago, grew out of the Frost Place Conference on Poetry, where participants are urged each year to continue working on their poetry in a collaborative spirit. Led by Deming Holleran and Phyllis Katz, the group has met monthly and published two collections of their work. Additional members have joined. Several members now have individual books to their credit, with many of their poems work-shopped by Still Puddle members.

The poets include the following: Deming Holleran, Lebanon, NH.; Phyllis Katz, Norwich, Vt.; Florence Fogelin, White River Junction, Vt.; Suzanne Nothnagle, Hartford, Vt.; Ann Perbohner, Lebanon, NH. and Sarah Reeves. Each poet will read her own work, in addition to sharing a poem by a fellow member. Some will read poems they have written about the Frost Place.

A wine and cheese reception will follow and books will be available for purchase and signing. The public is welcome and invited to attend. Programs are free, open to the public and handicapped accessible. Space is limited.
