Award-winning Poet Kathleen Ossip Launches KPS 50th Anniversary Season
The Katonah Poetry Series launches its Fiftieth Anniversary Season with a reading by Kathleen Ossip, author of three highly acclaimed volumes of poetry, a chapbook inspired by cinema, and a verse play. Her most recent collection, The Do-Over (Sarabande, 2015), was a New York Times Editors' Choice. In these poems, she grieves both personal and cultural losses, yet she also embraces these losses as a step toward renewal. Recently honored with a 2016-2017 Radcliffe Fellowship, Ossip’s other accolades include the American Poetry Review/Honickman First Book Prize for her debut collection (The Search Engine) and a New York Foundation for the Arts Fellowship. Kathleen Ossip holds an MFA in creative writing/poetry from The New School, where she currently serves on the faculty. She also frequently leads workshops at the Hudson Valley Writers' Center in Sleepy Hollow. The reading will be followed by audience Q & A, as well as a reception and book signing. The KPS 2016/2017 Season will continue with Paul Muldoon on November 20th.
