Poem in Your Pocket Day Celebration at Poets House: Open Mic & Community Read-In

Join our young pocket-poets and other special guests for an afternoon of readings and fun! We invite you to bring a poem of your choice to share, or find one here at Poets House.

Poem in Your Pocket Day is a program of the Office of the Mayor in partnership with the New York City Departments of Cultural Affairs and Education that is designed to showcase the talented faculty and student poets in higher education and the K-12 system, as well as to encourage New Yorkers to embrace literacy and poetry. Every year, Poets House partners with local schools to enhance their arts and literature curricula with interactive poetry workshops. The resulting poems are collected in anthologies and presented to each student on Poem in Your Pocket Day at Poets House.

This event is free and open to the public.
