Old Wine in New Bottles

In celebration of National Poetry Month, the Cheah Chan Duo proudly presents "Old Wine in New Bottles", a unique recital of songs exploring different musical settings of the same texts on Sunday, April 17, at 3:00 pm at the historic Church of St. Luke in the Fields in the West Village.

Featuring the poetry of Emily Dickinson, Stéphane Mallarmé, Edna St. Vincent Millay, Christina Rossetti, William Shakespeare (in observance of the 400th anniversary of his passing), Percy Bysshe Shelley, Alfred, Lord Tennyson, Paul Marie Verlaine, Oscar Wilde, and William Butler Yeats, with music by Samuel Barber, Leonard Bernstein, Jack Beeson, Rebecca Clarke, Aaron Copland, Frederick Delius, Claude Debussy, Thomas Dunhill, Gabriel Fauré, Gerald Finzi, Charles Griffes, Daron Hagen, Reynaldo Hahn, Richard Hundley, Frank J. Oteri, Roger Quilter, Maurice Ravel, Ned Rorem, Franz Peter Schubert, and Nicolas Slonimsky.
