It’s a poetry adventure for the whole neighborhood! The Mount Pleasant Poetry Project promotes community and creativity through free poetry programming for all ages across the full spectrum of our neighborhood’s diversity. Kicking off on April 1st to coincide with National Poetry Month, brightly-colored poetry dropboxes will pop up at participating locations around the neighborhood in Washington, DC. People will be warmly invited to write a poem and drop it inside. At the end of the month, we'll collect everyone's poetry and compile it into a big old Mount Pleasant Poetry Anthology, which we aim to redistribute (free of charge) in late spring/summer 2016.
