Giannina Braschi and Arnaldo Cruz Malave: New Noises, New Values, New Genres

 Iconic Puerto Rican poet and philosopher Giannina Braschi will read a scene from her new work Putinoika by FlowerSong Press. Renowned literary critic Arnaldo Cruz-Malavé, Professor of Spanish and Comparative Literature at Fordham University, will lead a discussion with Braschi on the creation of new noises, new values, and new genres. 

This special event marks the Closing Night program of The International Multilingual Creative Writing Conference ("IMCWC"), curated by Carlos Aguasaco. 

 FlowerSong Press is pleased to host a reception in celebration of Giannina Braschi, Winner of the 2024 Angela Y. Davis Award from the American Studies Association. Newly curated by Frederick Luis Aldama and directed by Edward Vidaurre, FlowerSong Press publishes breakthrough works by Latine poets, including MacArthur Award winner Juan Felipe Herrera's Rebozos of Love, Luis Alberto Urrea's Piedra, and Matt Sedillo's Mexican Style.
