Hill-Stead Museum presents a culturally rich weekend of Asian poetry, art, music, and conversation. On Sunday, August 9, Tina Chang will lead a community reading at 12 p.m. with participants of her poetry workshop from the previous day. She will perform at 3, followed by a performance of Chinese classical and folk music by the Celadon Youth Ensemble at 3:30. Finally, Li-Young Lee will perform at 4:15. During this weekend, Hill-Stead will be open for self-guided tours. A special display will feature rarely-seen, original Japanese woodblock prints from the museum’s collection. Hill-Stead’s Asian collection also includes porcelain, fine and decorative arts, and other collectibles amassed by the museum’s founders during their travels.
