The Block Island Poetry Project's 12th Annual Celebration will run from April 16 through April 19. There will be a series of workshops and performances throughout these days. Featured poets and workshop leaders in attendance include Marjory Wentworth, Joe Heithaus, Carol Ann Davis, & Carolyn Dragon.
On Friday, April 17th there will be a Pot Luck dinner at 6:30 PM at the Harbor Baptist Church followed by an open mic session and readings from Vernon Fowlkes, Lucille Bert, and Marjory Wentworth. This event is free of charge.
There is a special evening performance on Saturday April 18th with a reading and performance by Coleman Barks accompanied by cellist Eugene Friesen of the Paul Winter consort. This event will occur on Block Island, Rhode Island at 8:30 PM at the Harbor Baptist Church near the ferry landing. It is open to the public and is $10 at the door.
On Saturday April 19th at 1:30 pm there will be an island wide poetry walk led by Ana Flores. This event is open to the public and is free of charge.
