Jack Collom

1931 –
2017

Jack Collom was born in Chicago, Illinois on November 8, 1931. He received his BA and MA from the University of Colorado. He was the author of numerous collections of poetry, including Second Nature (Instance Press, 2012), which won the 2013 Colorado Book Award in Poetry. His other awards include a Fellowship from the National Endowment for the Arts and the Foundation for Contemporary Arts Poetry Award. He taught for many years at Naropa University's Jack Kerouac School of Disembodied Poetics, where he specialized in eco-literature. He died on July 2, 2017.
