Avalon – Model 98071

          To Ralph Pucci,
a mannequin is no mere dummy.

They say we need another Miracle
on Thirty-fourth Street to survive.
Really, what do these blank-faced
wannabees know – nothing. Selfies
and blinding flashes notwithstanding,
my intense gaze never wavers.
Under the scrutiny of my reflection,
I’m an Instagram and Facebook worthy
Diva. Jacket, Piazza Sempione. Blouse,
Chanel. Pants, Isabel Marant. Slingbacks,
Bottega Veneta. I am one of thousands
cast for this fantasy world. Uneducated
and living off my looks.
