In Admiration of the Moon

by Aavyn Lee

I have followed you to the ends of the earth

All of my existence,

I have watched you rise and fall

Like the ebb and flow of the tides that dance in your presence

I burn knowing that we may never never lay cheek to cheek

For I am the sun, and you are my Icarus

But at every day break, I will watch

As you fade into the blue

And I long for the night when you may reflect my light

And we become whole once more.
