Joan Selinger Sidney
Joan Selinger Sidney grew up in Brooklyn, New York. She received an MA in teaching from Harvard University, a PhD from the University of Connecticut, and an MFA from Vermont College. She is the author of Bereft and Blessed (Antrim House, 2014) and Body of Diminishing Motion: Poems and a Memoir (CavanKerry Press, 2005). She has received fellowships from the Connecticut Commission on the Arts, the Christopher Reeve Paralysis Foundation, and the Vermont Studio Center, among others. Sidney currently serves as the writer-in-residence at the Center for Judaic Studies and Contemporary Jewish Life at the University of Connecticut. She lives in Storrs, Connecticut.
