Jane Barnes
Jane Barnes lives in New York City and has had poetry published in the Massachusetts Review, Harvard Magazine, River Styx, Ploughshares and many other magazines. This poem first appeared in her collection EXTREMES: Poems 1971-1981, Blue Giant Press, Cambridge, Massachusetts. She has received prizes for her fiction, including the Urban Arts Award which included carving the story on a granite pillar outdoors in Boston's Copley Place. She lived for many years in Boston and Cambridge, moving to New York in 1998. She was an English instructor at New York University, City College and Medgar Evers, a CUNY college in Brooklyn.
