Claire Schwartz
Claire Schwartz received her PhD in African American studies, American studies, and women’s, gender and sexuality studies from Yale University.
Schwartz is the author of Civil Service: Poems (Graywolf Press, 2022) and bound (Button Poetry, 2018). She is the recipient of the 2022 Whiting Award for Poetry. She has also won a Pushcart Prize and Yale’s Sylvia Ardyn Boone Prize. With Kaveh Akbar and Sarah Kay, she wrote a weekly column for The Paris Review called “Poetry RX.” Schwartz is the culture editor for Jewish Currents.
