Gerald Richards is the Chief Executive Officer of the Superpower Agency, a youth literacy and creativity nonprofit organization in Edinburgh, Scotland. He previously served as the Chief Executive Officer of 826 National, a network of creative writing and after-school tutoring centers located in seven cities. Mr. Richards's nonprofit career includes positions with the Network for Teaching Entrepreneurship (NFTE), the United Negro College Fund (UNCF); University of California, San Francisco; the J. David Gladstone Institutes; and The Cradle Foundation. He has been interviewed by CBS This Morning, NBC’s nightly news, CNN, Inc Magazine, and The Michael Eric Dyson Show on topics of youth and education access. He also serves on the Boards of Newbury College, IDEX/Thousand Currents, and My Path. Mr. Richards holds a BA in film studies from Wesleyan University, an MFA in writing from the School of the Art Institute of Chicago, and certificates in nonprofit management and leadership from Babson College and Harvard University.
