Handlebars

by Kaia Beddows

I can’t skateboard
Probably because I rely
Too much on handlebars
To guide my wheels
And steer my path.
Maybe that’s why
I can’t balance you.
You’re too similar
To extraneous handlebars
That try to veer
My wheels in a way
They never intended to roll.
