Farnaz Fatemi

Farnaz Fatemi is an Iranian American poet and writer. She is the author of Sister Tongue (Kent State University Press, 2022), winner of the 2021 Stan and Tom Wick Poetry Prize, and the recipient of prizes and fellowships from Djerassi Resident Artists Program, the Jentel Foundation, and the Center for Women Writers.

A founding member of the Hive Poetry Collective, Fatemi serves as the poet laureate of Santa Cruz County, California, for 2023 and 2024. In 2023, Fatemi received an Academy of American Poets Laureate Fellowship.
