Erika Luckert
Erika Luckert is a poet, educator, and scholar originally from Edmonton, Canada. She earned an MFA in poetry from Columbia University and a PhD in composition and rhetoric from the University of Nebraska–Lincoln.
A recipient of the 92NY Discovery Poetry Prize, Luckert’s poetry, translations, and essays have appeared in The Rumpus, Denver Quarterly, Indiana Review, Entropy, Boston Review, and elsewhere. Her scholarship on the teaching of writing has appeared in Pedagogy magazine, Writing on the Edge, Journal of Creative Writing Studies, JAEPL: Journal of the Assembly for Expanded Perspectives on Learning, and in several edited collections.
Luckert is an assistant professor of English and the director of composition at the University of Southern Mississippi. She teaches creative and critical writing in both college and community contexts. She also facilitates professional development for secondary and postsecondary teachers.
