How are events chosen for the Poetry Calendar? Anyone may suggest an upcoming poetry event by entering the details into our submission form. Literary organizations and reading series are encouraged to regularly submit their events. Entries may be edited for appropriate content and length
Can HTML tags be used in the submission form? Yes, HTML tags can be used in the description box. Some useful tags are <BR> to insert a line break, and <I> and </I> to create italicized text. Links to e-mail addresses and URLs are unnecessary in the description box, as anything entered in the "E-mail" and "Website" fields will automatically be linked.
Can contest deadlines and calls for submissions be entered? Sorry, the Poetry Calendar is only for readings and events. We do not list contests, submission calls, or classes. However, we encourage you to post these items in our Message Boards.

Why are certain events featured on the homepage? We always feature events sponsored by the Academy of American Poets; however, we also regularly highlight national events from the Poetry Calendar. |
